Advanced Dental Technology

Years of dental experience is always the best technology!
Dr. Steve Sato understands that good dental care isn't just about your teeth, it's about how you feel.
Today, more than ever, dentistry is a dynamic field, changing very, very quickly. We are committed to continuing education so that we can offer you the best new treatments, as soon as these innovations have proved their worth. This is our commitment of excellence at the Dental Offices at Elizabeth Place, where your comfort and pioneering dentistry come hand in hand. We also pledge to involve you in the decision making process so that you are aware of all your treatment options and can select the care that is best for you.
Intraoral Camera

Intraoral camera technology enhances your understanding of your diagnosis and treatment options. An intraoral camera allows the dentist to see clear, precise pictures of your mouth, teeth, and gums. These photographs aid in determining an accurate diagnosis. With defined, enlarged images, the dentist is able to see details that may have been missed with a standard examination. The use of intraoral camera technology leads to a faster, more accurate diagnosis.
Yet another advantage of using intraoral cameras in the office is that we are able to save the images on the computer. This allows us to keep the images as permanent records and send them to you, a specialist, the dental lab, or your insurance if necessary.
Laser Therapy

Laser dentistry incorporates state-of-the-art technology in various aspects of dental health practice and treatment. Laser dentistry may improve the precision of your treatment, while minimizing pain and recovery time. It is a precise and effective way to deliver many dental procedures.
There are many benefits associated with laser dentistry. Some of these advantages include:
- Procedures performed by dental lasers may not require sutures.
- Certain laser dentistry procedures do not require anesthesia.
- Laser dentistry minimizes bleeding.
- Bacterial infections are minimized.
- Damage to surrounding tissue is minimized.
- Wounds heal faster and tissues can be regenerated.
DIAGNOdent

DIAGNOdent is the revolutionary new way to find even the smallest areas of tooth decay. By using this new technology, Dr. Sato is able to target and treat all of your small problem areas before they turn into larger issues that require more complicated procedures.
Here are a few more facts about DIAGNOdent:
- DIAGNOdent is completely painless. It’s energy level similar to that of a laser pointer, the laser beam is harmless to surrounding tissues.
- Because decay is detected earlier by DIAGNOdent, the number of dental procedures - and hence, the cost can often be reduced. It’s a great way to keep little problems from becoming big problems.
- A few minutes are all it takes to scan your entire mouth with DIAGNOdent.
- Studies have shown DIAGNOdent is equally accurate in both primary and permanent teeth.
Gum Disease Laser Therapy

Periodontal gum disease occurs when bacteria gets below the gum line, causing the gums to pull away from the teeth. Pockets of bacteria are then formed between the teeth and gums, causing severe bone and gum destruction.
The laser is used to disinfect and remove diseased tissues from around the tooth and inside the pocket. Removing the diseased tissue, allows the healing process to begin. Although several treatments are required for the gums to return to normal, this procedure is gentle, less painful, and has a quick recovery. More severe cases of periodontal disease may be referred out, but laser therapy may be performed in our office for beginning to moderate cases of periodontal disease.
Dental lasers may be used for the painless and suture-free removal of benign tumors from the gums, palate, sides of cheeks, and lips. Other soft tissues may be removed with the laser as well. The use of the laser will reduce pain, bleeding, infections, inflammation, and recovery time.
